Find Brignall MillBrignall Mill is located on the north bank of the River Greta in a spot bordering the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
About four miles away is the nearest town, Barnard Castle. Eighteen miles from B.C. is Darlington which is on the main east coast rail route from London to Edinburgh. The A1 (M) road is 14 miles away at Scotch Corner. The A66 trans-Pennine trunk road is 3 miles away.
Public Transport
There are good bus connections Darlington to Barnard Castle. From the Railway Station go under the underpass from Platform 4, straight down the road to the roundabout, turn right. See Royal Mail building on your right, cross the dual carriageway and go straight ahead until you find Tubwell Row where the Bus Stop for 76 and 75 Arriva service is. About an 8 minute walk. The fastest journey to Barnard Castle is about 35 minutes. From the stop on Galgate in BC the Hodgsons taxi office is just opposite. Taxi to the Mill is about five miles or we can pick you up by prior arrangement. You need to give the taxi driver the directions which I will email you when you book. Tell them to go via Cross Lanes on the A66, not Brignall Village!
